Stella Mae Oatmeal Stout Cookies
Ingredients
Breads, Cakes & Cookies
  • 1 (12-oz.) bottle Alaskan Stout
  • 1 ½ c. shortening
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 c. oatmeal (such as Quaker Quick Oats)
  • Raisins or chocolate chips

    Methods/steps
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Reduce Stout down to about ½ cup. Combine shortening, sugars, eggs, beer and vanilla.

    Sift together flour, salt and baking soda; add dry ingredients to shortening mixture. Mix well. Blend in oatmeal a little at a time. Carefully fold in raisins and chocolate chips to suit. Drop cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheet. And bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
