WILDNESS Packaging Wins Gold at Craft Beer Marketing Awards

Alaskan Brewing Co.’s new beer brand takes home a gold “Crushie” award at the 2024 international contest

Juneau, Alaska (May 9, 2024) – Alaskan Brewing Company’s newest beer brand, WILDNESS, won a Gold “Crushie” award at the 2024 Craft Beer Marketing Awards in the Best Packaging for Cans (Any Size or Type): Craft Beer category.

This year, a total of 227 award wins were given to brewers, designers, and marketing agencies from around the world. More than 600 judges in the beer and design industries judged submissions. The winners were announced during a live Facebook broadcast on April 18, 2024. This is the 5th year of the awards.

Alaskan Brewing Company worked with The Storied Brand, located in Colorado, to create the packaging design for WILDNESS. The design features lifestyle imagery from Alaska-based photographers and is geared towards outdoor lovers and adventure-seekers. The beer was released in March 2024, and will be a year-round product sold in 25 states in 12-packs, 6-packs, and on draft.

“Creating WILDNESS with Alaskan, a beer that represents the emotion, the place, and the culture of Alaska- has been so rewarding and fun,” said Zola Fleischli, principal at Storied. “While we are stoked on this design award, the real reward for us is watching the sales of WILDNESS continuing to climb for Alaskan.”

This is the 6th Crushie Award Alaskan Brewing Company has won, and the first for Overall Package Design.

Previous Crushie wins include Alaskan White, Gold in 2020; Alaskan Citrus Wheat, Gold in 2021; Alaskan Island Ale, Platinum in 2022; Alaskan Pilsner, Gold in 2022, and Alaskan Chillin’ Cold IPA, Gold in 2023.
