Alaskan Husky IPA is made from and features Mosaic hops and premium Pilsen malt.
Alaskan Husky IPA is based on a small batch SMaSH Mosaic IPA recipe using a single malt and single hop to explore the specific desired characteristics of certain malts and hops. Hop varieties are often best known for either bittering properties or for high aromatics and complex flavors. The Mosaic hop is an example of a hop that can bring both elements to a beer.
First released in 2012 as an experimental variety by Hop Breeding Company, Mosaic is a daughter of Simcoe and Nugget varieties.
Husky IPA is inspired by some of the hardest working athletes that Alaska has to offer, the Husky. Huskies are a blend of various northern breeds originating from remote Alaskan communities, chosen for their particular skillsets. An Alaskan icon, the Husky has been and still continues to be an integral part of the history and culture of Alaska.
